Acevedo Proposes Salary Cut for Village Officials

Article in the Franklin Park Herald Journal:

The salaries of elected officials in Franklin Park have become an issue in this April's village trustee election.

Trustee Juan Acevedo, seeking reelection, has proposed trustees and the village president take a least a 10 percent pay cut. He'd like to see the money donated to Leyden Family Services or back to the village.
Likewise, candidates Bill Ruhl, Diego DiMarco and Kurt Kugelberg have said they will take a one-third pay cut if elected.

My Plan for the Beautification of Franklin Park

Beautification of Franklin Park

My fellow Franklin Parkers! For years now, the most visible piece of land in Franklin Park has been a desolate empty lot of gravel and dirt. The corner of 25th & Franklin Ave is passed by thousands of commuters on the Metra and in their cars every day! The current state of that main corner poorly represents the character and history of Franklin Park. It forms negative perceptions in the minds our residents, visitors and passer-byers. My plan is the BEAUTIFY FRANKLIN PARK!

We will transform the empty and unsightly gravel lot, into a beautifully landscaped green park in the middle of our town and right next to downtown Franklin Park.

Volunteers from our community can help make this happen! Residents of Franklin Park can volunteer their time and/or money to help plant grass seed, bushes, trees and flowers. This would be a great way to open up the community and bond together for a common goal, to beautify Franklin Park.

With a new and beautiful gateway to Franklin Park on the corner of 25th and Franklin, it will give a new face  to our town and make way for the rejuvenation of our downtown Frankin Avenue!

We can beautify Franklin Park together!

Vote Juan Acevedo on April 5th
